Microdermabrasion
The stress of our age and environment wears on the delicate skin of our face. Healthy skin, however, merely needs to be exposed to glow again. Microdermabrasion gently sloughs away the outermost layer of our facial skin to reveal the young healthy skin, and in the process restores radiance, energy, and confidence.

Marie Lopiano at Cellulite Solutions can deliver this gentle non-invasive technique easily and safely on nearly all types of skin.
Why does the treatment work?
Microdermabrasion offers a non-surgical and non-invasive way to treat a wide variety of skin conditions, revealing the younger healthier skin beneath the signs of facial aging and other skin conditions. Skin types and abnormalities that can be treated include:
- Hyper pigmentation (brown spots)
- Aging skin
- Sun-damaged skin
- Acne (active and scars)
- Blemishes
- Dry skin
- Fine Lines
- Wrinkles
- Oily skin
What can I expect after each treatment, and how many will I need?
What can I expect after each treatment, and how many will I need? After the first treatment, results can be noticeable. By the third treatment results are more evident. The skin should appear light pink with a soft Microglide™ texture. More aggressive treatments may leave a redness appearance for approximately 24 hours. Some patients may experience a light peeling after more aggressive treatments.

We will assess the area to be treated and provide an estimate of the total number of treatments needed. Treatments are usually performed in six or more sessions with the first three treatments being performed once per week for three weeks straight and the next three treatments in two-week intervals.

Treatments typically take 10 to 30 minutes depending upon the area treated. Full-Face treatment may take approximately 15 minutes to complete. Maintenance treatments can be done every four to six weeks. For post-surgical scars, acne scars, and melasma (darkening of the skin), a more aggressive Microdermabrasion treatment can be performed.

We use the same system but at higher settings. These treatments are performed once per week for six weeks straight with the next six or more treatments performed one month later in two-week intervals. Treatments typically take 10 to 30 minutes but can extend to as long as an hour or so. Patients should comply with the maintenance program to achieve full results.
How do I maintain the benefits of microdermabrasion?
To receive the full benefit of the Microdermabrasion treatment, we recommend that the area to be treated is clean and fully oil-free. All makeup or lotion should be removed prior to treatment. If skin still appears oily, we suggest you use an astringent or toner. We recommend that you spray or mist the treated area with cool water immediately after the treatment. Also, please avoid sun for 12 hours after treatment.

We ask that you avoid wearing cosmetic makeup for 12 hours after treatment; however, patients may apply their cosmetic makeup after treatment over a non-irritating moisturizer. If activities require you to be in the sun, sunscreen with SPF of at least 30 is recommended. A tropical vitamin A and E ointment may be applied sparingly after treatment to nourish the skin.

Otherwise, normal activities can be resumed immediately. For 48 hours following treatment, we recommend that you use only a gentle cleanser and moisturizer on the face. Any lotions containing alpha hydroxyl or vitamin C should be avoided.
