endermologie®
What is endermologie®?
In the late 1980’s Louis Paul Guitay, a French engineer, was receiving physiotherapy to soften scars after an accident. To facilitate the therapy, he developed a mechanical, computer driven hand held massaging device that delivered intermittent suction and rolling to the area being treated. The LPG technique was born. Though initially used for the therapeutic massages, it was observed to unexpectedly produce a noticeable improvement in the appearance of cellulite. Over the past ten years, thousands of machines have been used as the first patented FDA cleared process proven to effectively reduce the appearance of cellulite.
What is cellulite?
Cellulite is a term used to describe deposits of fat & other material trapped in pockets of connective tissue beneath the skin. Clinically this is responsible for the progressive dimpling appearance of the skin. The main factors responsible for cellulite is excess consumption of saturated fats, lack of exercise, poor hydration and imbalances in hormonal function.
Why does endermologie® work?
By increasing the blood circulation in the subcutaneous layer, fluids and fat that cause the dimpling appearance are mobilized. The mechanical head creates a skinfold that is manipulated to give a massage action directly to the superficial fascia, which is the equivalent of fitness for the skin. The appearance of cellulite is temporarily reduces unless sustained with regular maintenance and healthy lifestyle.
Why is maintenance necessary?
Like exercise, one session won’t produce recognizable results. But a sustained program consisting of at least 15-20 sessions will produce an improved appearance of cellulite and circumferential body measurements. Monthly maintenance sessions, combined with a healthy lifestyle can maintain the results that endermologie® treatments can achieve. Similar to muscle tone and size, results are only temporary unless sustained with regular workouts. endermologie®, is fitness for the skin and when done regularly our skin stays smooth.
Who is a good candidate for endermologie®?
Treatment is for individuals that are living a healthy lifestyle. Muscle movement and exercise are vital to promote lymphatic circulation. Adequate water intake flushes wastes from the body while hydrating muscles and other tissues. While the lymphatic system is primarily responsible for removal of waste products from these areas, a two liter a day water intake is an essential part of the endermologie® program. A healthy diet filled with necessary ingredients to promote and maintain good health is important through out treatment.
What proof is there that endermologie® works?
Leaders in the field of aesthetic medicine have conducted studies that demonstrate the effectiveness of endermologie® treatment. The FDA has given LPG approval to claim that endermologie® does reduce temporarily the appearance of cellulite with treatment. Additionally, independent medical studies have demonstrated a 400% increase in blood flow to the skin for more than six hours and 300% increase in lymphatic flow for at least three hours following treatment. Photographs are performed before and during the treatments to document the efficacy and results of treatments.
What equipment is used?
We use the only patented equipment for endermologie® made by LPG. We have two CelluM6 endermologie® machines.
How safe is the procedure?
endermologie® is a proven noninvasive, effective and painless procedure. Most clients report feeling energized yet relaxed.
What should I look for in an endermologist?
You should ask if they are certified and trained by LPG. How many hours of experience do they have? Do they show you before and after pictures of other clients? Do they have LPG equipment and is it maintained by LPG? How long are their treatments and how much area do they cover? How many machines do they have? What are their hours of availability?
