What is cellulite?

Cellulite is the term used to describe deposits of fat and other material trapped in pockets of connective tissue beneath the skin. Cellulite causes the progressive dimpling appearance of the skin. The main factors responsible for cellulite are excess consumption of saturated fats, lack of exercise, poor hydration and imbalances in hormonal function. Why does the VelaShape/VelaSmooth treatment work?

Who is a good candidate for VelaShape/VelaSmooth?

Anyone with cellulite or any sort of skin irregularities on the thighs or buttocks would be a good candidate for the VelaSmooth treatment. You should not have the treatment if you are pregnant, have scarring or infection in the area to be treated, or if you have medical conditions or are taking medication that makes you photosensitive. What to expect with VelaShape/VelaSmooth

The VelaShape/VelaSmooth procedure vigorously massages the skin, and the treatment area will appear flushed and feel warm after a session.

Marie Lopiano and her trained staff of expert aestheticians apply VelaShape/VelaSmooth to each treatment area for approximately five minutes. During treatment, patients will feel the warm pressure of the VelaShape/VelaSmooth system as it rolls over the treatment area.

VelaShape/VelaSmooth combines bi-polar radio frequency and infrared light plus the massaging effect of tissue mobilization to safely and effectively re-contour the skin's surface. VelaSmooth is the first and only medical device to penetrate deep enough to effectively treat cellulite.

Maintenance of VelaShape/VelaSmooth Treatment

We recommend that patients have 4 - 6 treatments, once a week. To maintain your VelaShape /VelaSmooth results, we recommend treatment every 4 – 6 weeks to maintain the desired results after treatment.
